Grants

The Founders Auxiliary Board, the result of the 2021 decision to unite the Children’s Health Board and The Board of Visitors, allocates funds to Children’s National through its Annual Grants and Major Gifts Programs. Through both Boards’ fundraising efforts, the Annual Grants Program has awarded close to $12 million to support initiatives to develop and sustain cutting-edge research and innovative treatments, purchase critical medical equipment, improve patient hospital experience and support the professional development of doctors, nurses and hospital staff as well as numerous health initiatives through the pediatric community clinics of Children’s National serving those most in need.

Individual grant requests must not exceed $25,000.

2022-2023 Grants Dates

Grant management system open for Letter of Intent (LOI) submission:  Monday, August 22, 2022
LOI due to Founders Auxiliary Board: Saturday, October 1, 2022
LOI response from Founders Auxiliary Board to applicant: SaturdayOctober 22, 2022
Full grant proposal due to Founders Auxiliary Board:  Wednesday, November 23, 2022
Grant request investigation interviews by Founders Auxiliary Board: January/February 2023
Grant applicants notified of grant award and fund amount: by Tuesday, April 11, 2023

To submit a Letter of Interest (LOI), please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to https://foundersauxiliaryboard.grantplatform.com/
  2. Register to create an account, or use an existing account you created for a prior submission
  3. Review the key information and dates on the Grants Platform home page
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click the purple  “Start Entry” button when you are ready to submit your LOI

Grants awarded by the Founders Auxiliary Board have inspired change and transformative advances in diverse areas of service throughout the hospital. Past awards have supported research, child wellness initiatives such as concussion prevention, immunizations, cutting-edge equipment and technology, pediatric surgical robots, professional development, and educational support.
